Guide for presentations
and preparAtion of manuscripts
Please
indicate the final title and form of your presentation
on the registration form. Final decision about the form
of your presentation (oral or poster) will be made by
the scientific committee.
All presentations will be published. Abstracts will be
published in the Abstract booklet and extended abstracts
(max. 2 pages) in the Proceedings. A limited number of
presentations after the decision of the scientific
committee will be published in the peer reviewed
scientific journal of the Faculty of Forestry, Acta
Silvatica & Lignaria Hungarica (http://aslh.nyme.hu/).
Depending on the number of participants accepted oral
presentations will have 15-20 minutes. PowerPoint
projector and computer will be available for
presentations.
The
final program will be available at the end of July.
Maximum
size of posters will be 100x100 cm. You will be given by
the organisers the equipment necessary to display your
poster material.
Please
indicate if you intend to show videos.
Abstracts
The
deadline for submission is 31st May
2008. Abstracts should be written in English.
Authors are requested to submit their abstracts as
computer versions. Please use any version of Word for
Windows and submit them by e-mail as connected files.
Form of the abstracts
The
preferred font type is Times New Roman. Please use font
size of 12 pt.
Title:
bold capitals
The
title should consist of not more than 14 words.
Authors: small capitals
The
authors’ initials and surname; if based at different
establishments, this should be denoted by means of 3p
position decimal superscript letters.
Institution, town, country: normal letter size; in the
case of different establishments, 3p position decimal
subscripts should correspond to those given by the names
of the authors.
Text:
normal letter size (12pt) with single spacing and
continuous text. The text of the abstract should not
exceed 300 words.
Manuscripts
Manuscripts (extended abstracts) submitted for the
proceedings should be written in English.
Manuscripts should be submitted at registration desk in
the hotel (27th or 28th August).
Proceedings
will be published and mailed within a half-year period
from the Symposium date.
Preparing your manuscript please follow the instructions
listed below.

Please use any version of Word for Windows. Label the CD
with your name, and the title of the presentation. You
may also submit your manuscript as an e-mail attachment.

Leave 3 cm margin on the left and on the right sides.
Use normal letter size (12pt) with 1.0 spacing.

Manuscripts should not exceed 2
pages.

- Title, authors and affiliation
should be written just like in case of abstracts.

- Key words.
Give 3-5 key words in English.

Preferably use the
following structure: Introduction – Methods – Results –
Discussion –(Conclusions) – (Implications for
management)

- Literature cited.
Literature in text is cited by author and year, and is
written by small capitals, e.g.
Bird (1999) or (Bird
1999); Bird and
Jackson (1999) or
(Bird and Jackson,
1999); in case of more than two authors:
Bird et al.
(1999) or (Bird et
al., 1999). Literature in references is cited as
follows: Bird, P.,
Jackson, G. and Greenfield, S. 1999: Home range
of wild boar (Sus scrofa Linnaeus, 1758).

Tables and figures.
Submit tables and figures edited by any version of Word
or Excel. Alternatively, enclose a high-quality printed
original of the tables or figures. Pictures are not
acceptable.
Authors
of papers accepted for publication in the
Acta Silvatica & Lignaria Hungarica
while preparing their manuscripts should follow the
instructions of the journal (http://aslh.nyme.hu/).
The decision about the publication in the journal will
be made by the scientific committee according the
scientific level of the abstracts. Authors will be
informed about the decision by 30th July
2008. The deadline for submission of the manuscripts is
31st December 2008.
